An Informational Update

Our 725 Release Candidate has been a huge success however it didn't go out without a few bugs. Thanks to the input from our users we have been able to pinpoint, isolate and fix them. Our final big release is scheduled to be out before Christmas, with most if not all of those major issues and many minor issues resolved, including those annoying viewer freezes. We will also have full Display Name support.

During our Office Hour on Tuesday we discussed all of these issues and announced what we've added for the final release. As well, Rezzed.tv announced the winners of their "Photoshop Jessica Lyon Contest". Congratulations to the winners and thank you all for your participation. You can see all entries here http://inside.rezzed.tv/2010/12/15/photoshop-jessica-lyon-finalists-and-entries/ and you can watch the Office Hour recording and all others here, http://rezzed.tv/shows/the-phoenix-hour/ .

We are very much looking forward to getting this final "BIG" release out to you for Christmas. There will be more releases in the future too, but they will contain mostly bug fixes. We call this our "Final" because it's the last release we'll have with major changes and new features.

NOTE: Please note that we cannot provide support reliably through the comments section of this blog. If you are having problems or have questions please contact our support team. Support team members and our support groups are listed under the "Support" link on our website.

  2. I've enjoyed Phoenix for the most part aside for three things that could be fixed in the final.

    1) Audio Stream fix. For me it keeps going on and off for places I tp to and when I log in. Didn't have that issue before, it would just play while things rezzed.

    2) Better response time and fast rezzing in even more crowded sims. Lately it has been slow. Very laggy in certain spots even non crowded least for me.

    3) A way to fix the showcase feature under search. Places I try and tp to under there says to try back later and doesnt find the region to tp to.

All and all great work on Phoenix. I like it best. These are all just issues I came across even though others may not of.

Thanks and keep up the great work!

  9. I love the viewer, if theres something thats missing and could be added at some point in the future, i say its the ability to relog on another account while 'inworld' without quitting first.

  10. love this viewer..but are you planning to provide a 'hosting powers" role to accomodate the "rule change" the lindens put thru for posting events?
the owner of the sim has to download viewer 2 in order to grant the powers at the moment....
    i don't think they like you...lol

  12. Fix the attachments, Half of the time I'm logging in with attachments detached or undetachable, unable to put them back on unless i make a new copy of it. And it only happens when using multiple attachments on the same spot.

  13. some other little bug i came cross: despite of having ticked the box in the pref settings, notecards won't show up automatically after accepting them.

  14. I've noticed a minor feature difference is in local chat where the channel could be set to a number other than zero has been inoperable which does have an effect in different gadgets. Typing out the command channel makes one have to type a bit longer though by the time Firestorm is needed this will be a non-issue. I haven't had a problem with the rest of the viewer, I only seem to crash when a rolling restart hits or I've got five or six programs running at once which could happen to any of them. Thanks for making Second Life better with the viewer.

  15. I do hope Growl notifications are fixed in this release! It's one of the reasons I chose Phoenix over other viewers, and not having it has been a real drag.

  18. A huge thankyou from me! I run a busy sim and am often asked which viewer to use. I have no hesitation in recommending Pheonix. Also, a Pheonix Support Team Member contacted me - without me asking for direct help - as he had read about an issue I was having via SL Forums. No that's Customer Service! 10/10 guys ... you rock! :)
