4.2.1 withdrawn as release

We discovered an ugly bug with our 4.2.1.29803 release and are removing it from downloads.

The bug comes from a fix we inadvertently pulled in from LL, to a fix a bug we don't yet have, which has created a pretty nasty visual bug with doors, wheels and other things that rotate.

Because of this we are temporarily removing our downloads of 4.2.1 and will have an update of 4.2.2 by the end of the day.

If you are already on 4.2.1.29803, don't panic, no need to downgrade, your viewer is still safe. The bug makes doors and things 'look' broken, but it does not actually break anything, it's purely visual. However we ask that you update to 4.2.2 once it's available.

    Maybe good it will not download for me on Windows 7, will my problem be fixed on the re-release?

    Has anyone else had issues with Firestorm for Mac and mesh? Ever since the most recent update, I have not been able to view mesh items at all - or they appear as flat boards - on my Mac. I've tried a clean re-install, and then a clean re-install of the older version. Thanks for any help.

      Firestorm runs all right on my Mac Pro early 2008, ATI HD 5870, OS X 10.8.1

      You sure you have your graphics settings high enough? I think both basic and atmospheric shaders must be on, as well as hardware skinning. HTH

    My dors are still revolving fine. But thank you for the prompt warning.

    Pinchy. The latest Firestorm on my Mac shows mesh correctly. Please try to fully uninstall it, THEN go to /Users//Library/Application Support/ and delete the entire Firestorm folder. Then reinstall Firestorm.

    I have also noticed another ugly bug that involves the vintage skin. All the notifications and such are not in line with the top right, but instead are low; by around a few milimeters. Enough to cause a problem

    Hmm .. it appears I may have screwed up right. The doors I sell visually work just as before. The only artifact I see is my Sliding Vinyl Window .. and it only gets a severe case of the Jaggies.

    I think my issue with firestorm was the inventory. When I took off the items I was wearing. The folders never disappeared in the " worn items" section. Which was a bit of annoyance for me.

    does that have something to do with when i log into fs i rez in as a female then goes to a man cuz on phoenix i just rez in as a man.. i hope that someone can help me on this please

    Anyone having graphic problems with all avatars but your own moving really slowly and having jagged edges? It happened to me right after I upgraded. I only WISH my only issues were with doors. This problem is really bad.

      Sounds like the Avatar Imposters option was enabled after you upgraded. Go to Preferences -> Graphics -> General and click the Advanced button. Uncheck "Avatar Imposters".

    @Minx that can be useful occasionally, if you're wondering what you were wearing earlier. But I agree it can be annoying too.
    Here's a workaround:
    While in the Worn tab, choose a filter such as seeing only textures, then change back to no filter (seeing all items).
    That will get rid of the empty folders in the Worn tab.

    Ever since downloading 4.2.2.29837 I have been a ball of smoke. What is going on. I've uninstalled, cleared cashe, left it on over night to let everything load, reset my router. Nothing... still smoke

    That may be because of something you are wearing, that isn't downloaded. You can try doing a character test, then change back to your skin/shape... and then your clothing.
